母子手帳　　Mother’s Pocketbook

妊娠が確定したら、妊娠証明書を持って、地域の保健所で「母子手帳」をもらいます。
In Japan you will receive a Mother’s Pocketbook (Boshi-Techo) at the public health center in the district where you live immediately after you confirm pregnancy. You hand a Pregnancy Notification.

無料で、妊婦の経過や出産の状態、赤ちゃんの発達などを記録するようになっています。
It is provided free and a notebook that records the progress during the pregnancy period, the situation of delivery and the baby’s growth etc.

国籍や、外国人登録の有無、在留資格などは問われません。パスポートの提示も必要ないです。
You will not be asked about your nationality, whether you are registered as a foreigner or not and your status of residence in Japan. You don’t have to show your passport.

妊婦と乳児の健康のために行政のサービスを利用します。
You can receive various free services of the municipal office for the healths of both a mother and a baby.

小中学校での予防接種の記録は２０歳過ぎて、就職する時の健康診断の記述で、参考にし、懐かしく思い出すことがあります。
The records of the vaccination at the period in elementary and junior high schools remind you of your childhood when you find employment and write down your records of the vaccination in the paper about your medical check passing at the age of 20.
