パリダカ モータースポーツのパリダカールラリーが1月5日開始直前になって、中止になりました。 通過国であるモーリタニアの治安が悪化したことによるものです。 今はポルトガルのリスボンからセネガルのダカールまでの約10,000kmを市販無改造車、改造クロスカントリーラリー車、二輪、トラックなどで、砂漠・水のない川、現地人の居住地などいろいろな状態の道路を走るもの。 8年連続13回目となる総合優勝を目指していた三菱自動車も含め、準備してきた関係者･ファンにとって、ショックな事件でした。 30年の歴史の中にも、事件や事故もあり、今尚、植民地主義と批判される向きもありました。 アフリカの内情はほとんど、知らされませんから、この機会に伝えて欲しいものです。 The Dakar Rally The 2008 Dakar Rally has been cancelled because of safety concerns in the republic of Mauritania, the day before of 5th January when it was scheduled to start. The Dakar Rally is the automobile race for less 10000 km between Lisbon（Portugal) and Dakar (Senegal) by some types, for example commercial non-stock car, stock-car for cross-country, motorcycle, truck, etc. Race passes through desert, wasteland, river and the dwelling area of local people. I think it was regrettable for the participant and fan to have been cancelled, including Mitsubishi Motor Corp. which aimed to win thirteen times and eight consecutive wins. There were some incidents and accidents during 30 years’ history. And it sometimes was criticized to be down colonialism. We hardly know and we can’t find actualities of African countries. |
