The Health Insurance system for senior after 75 years old began from April 1st this year.
The system is unpopular because senior after 75 years old have been entered in the Health Insurance with family members but they had to enter in the National Insurance newly and pay his or her premium separately.

Plus the premium was deducted from their pension automatically.

In background there is serious problem of the National Insurance's balance.
The ageing society is advancing rapidly in Japan. The cost for the National Insurance and the Nursing Care Insurance is increasing more and more.

Before 35 years, almost all of politicians promised the sweet words like a full social welfare and got popularity. So, old people were pleased at having the preferential treatment then. The Health Insurance payment for the person advanced in years was cheap and the medical bill was free. Even rich senior didn't have to pay at all.

But those all costs were the tax revenue from the working generation.
It was said the waiting room of hospital was the haunts of senior.
And the hospital gave them surplus medicine and it was discarded in the gutter by hospital, it was said

At this, the opinion that it was injustice rose.
It was spread generally that the people who received the service should pay according to his or her income.
In the future, so after 20 years much more senior will increase surely.

Partial payment of the geriatric medicine increases. (Hospitalization 1000 yen, outpatient 500 yen/day four times a month)
1998 Partial payment of the geriatric medicine increases (Hospitalization 1100 yen, outpatient 500 yen/day four times a month)
1999 Partial payment of the geriatric medicine increases. (Hospitalization 1200 yen, outpatient 530 yen/day four times a month)
2002 The geriatric medicine completely fixes the rate. (10 percent load)
2003 The burden of the insured of the health insurance and family members increases from 30 percent.
2008 Medical-care system for the elderly of latter term is introduced.(Collect all members insurance premium from 75 years old and more. )The cost of from 70 years old to 74 years old is 20 percent load in principal.
