Kenzo Shirai

Kenzo Shirai was born in 1996. He is 19 years old.
He started gymnastics in 3-year-old.
He collected attention from the time of elementary and junior high schools.
When he was a high school student, 16 years old in 2012, he was elected to Japanese team at the 5th Asian Gymnastics Championships held in Fujian Province in China; he won the championship at the men's floor exercise.
He showed twists of a total of 22nd times including the F difficulty of backward somersault four times twist in men's floor exercise in the 67th All-Japan Gymnastics Tournament 2013 and won the championship.
He began to be called twist prince.
Then he showed the new flame techniques on the floor and the vaulting horse, and those techniques have been certified named "Shirai" at the head of name and he also has been certified to Guinness World Records.
He was enrolled in Nippon Sport Science University in 2015.
In 2015 World Gymnastics Championships, the Japanese team won the championship for the first time in 37 years and he got a gold medal in the floor exercise.
He did Olympic debut for the first time at the 2016 Summer Olympics.
He took part in the vaulting horse and floor exercise in the finals of the team event, his team won the gold medal.
Everyone had been thinking he would get the gold medal in floor exercise, but he made mistakes in the individual competition and ended in fourth place.
While, he also showed a new technique in the vaulting horse and he won the bronze medal.
