Super-aging society in Japan

In Japan the shift to an aging society has progressed at a rapid pace.
The aging rate is the ratio of the number of people aged 65 and over to the population.
We saw 7% for the tendency for aging society in 1970.
14% of the so-called ”the aging society“” was in 1994.
The standard of 21% of the super-aging society was in 2007.
It was 28.4% in 2019.
There are over 80,000 people over 100 years old in 2020.

Japan has the highest aging rate in the world.
And it's moving at a tremendous speed.
Is it thanks of medical progress?
However, there are serious problems which we cannot be just happy.

The burden on the working generation who supports the old-age pension increases.
The elderly must take care of the elderly, and in some cases the caregiver of dementia also is for dementia.
Even if it does not interfere with your daily life, you will not be able to complete the procedures at the government office or bank, or you will gradually be unable to replace electrical products or seasonal items.

It’s all right if we are fine, but we also have to think about accepting death with dignity widely.
