Shibusawa Eiichi

In 2024, Japanese 10,000 yen banknotes will be renewed.
The new face is Eiichi Shibusawa.
The 10,000-yen bill is renewed in 40 years since Shotoku Taishi changed to Yukichi Fukuzawa in 1984.
NHK's Taiga historical drama is supposed to broadcast his story from February 14 2021.

He was a farmer in the low-ranked and he wisely felt that the Tokugawa Shogunate was nearing the end as the times changed.
But he served the last Shogun of the Edo period, Yoshinobu Tokugawa.

After the Taisei Hokan and the Meiji Restoration, when Japan changed drastically, he contributed greatly to the development of modernization in Japan.

He has been involved the newly social and economic structure that remains today, such as the establishment of economic organizations, a lot of banks and companies, education, welfare, etc. in many fields.
